What is a calavera? A calacera is a form of art developed by José Guadalupe Posads in the 19th century that displayed rich Mexican society as skeletons. There was a big class gap during this time and the calaveras were meant to show that no matter your socio-economic status in life everyone will en up dead in the end.
My calavera is not very serious. It is meant mostly just to be amusing. I think that it does follow the almost mocking nature of the art form of calaveras because it plays with peoples opportunities even after death. |
